Frank Hunter

Selected sculptures and graphic works in the collection of Alexander Shadrin are typical for the most important themes in Salvador Dali's art. <..> You can ask - why these graphic works are so important?

For me the answer is obvious:

  • Dali's graphic works are giving the viewer an opportunity to discover the artists' luxuriant imagination;
  • This first-class performance of each artwork;
  • a huge legacy that perfectly reveals the fullness of Dali's world;

Equally important is the lightheartedness of Dali's art. His graphics cause a sincere astonishment, it is some kind of a portal from the world full of issues to the imaginary world of one of the greatest artistic minds of the twentieth century.

The city of Yekaterinburg in central Russia is currently playing host to 40 works by Salvador Dali recently purchased by a local oligarch for a rumoured $1m. <..> Works are on show in a local museum and will then go on tour.

Dali is complex, positive and doubtful. Fantastic. <..> Picasso is more like my character. I had a number of his artworks hanged at home – it is like another member in my family – energetic and strong, I couldn't take it!

Your Feedback

  • It is hard to describe everything that happens on the show, but the magic that happens from the interaction between the work and the viewer - is a main reason to go and see the exhibition. Firstly you certainly need to go to see Picasso and immediately go to Dali, because although he's being praised for so many years alreay, he is still a genius

  • A wonderful exhibition which gives you a glance at the world view of two amazing artists through their engravings and sketches . Interesting video materials are a perfect complement to the show. The exhibition is small but very impressive and exciting, it awakens your naive childhood dreams.

  • Only genuine works can be so powerful. This is so inspiring, to say the least

  • An perfect private collection's exhibition, which is going to travel the world for a couple of months, do not miss it!

  • I would like to thank the authors of the exhibition for an opportunity to time travel to a different world – world of Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso and to see the artworks in original. Special thanks for the video-tour files which make it possible to understand the mind of geniuses. This exhibition is highly recommended for everyone, each viewer will find some prog in the artworks and perhaps an opportunity to feel the emotional springs of our own complex and controdictional minds

  • Geniuses or Man Men? You have to find the answer for yourself. One thing for sure – this is a deep, provoking world. Some will find these works (paintings, ceramics, statues) naïve, somemay find them deep and some will not, but it will not leave you neutral. And the emotional explosion makes it worth visiting. I highly recommend!
